I have always been known as a chatty person.
When I was a kid, I left the house right after Dad went to work. I spent the day playing or just hanging out at a friend's house. We played ball in the back yard and we generally had great adventures.
My friend's father was a very likable person and we all enjoyed him very much. He hung the nick-name "Babbling Brooks" on me. At the time, I was not very pleased with the label. However, as I grew older, I decided that my ability to get along with others and being able to talk with must anyone was a gift. I was elected mayor of my home town and my friend's father was one of my special supporters.
Over the years I had grown to love my friend's dad, Beverly York. Beverly and I always spent some time with each other. I would often remind him of my nick-name. This was for him to use as he please. Later, I was given the chance to write a column for my local weekly newspaper. I titled my column "Babbling Brooks" in honor of my friend, Beverly York. Beverly helped me learn some very valuable lessons. One in particular is not to take myself too seriously and to poke fun at me. Also to try to greet everyone with the opportunity to chat for a moment. I hope to never loose this gift or to forget Beverly York.
So this is why Babbling?
